plants and cats

This week I finally made a terrarium. My houseplant collection has grown significantly over the last few weeks. I figured it was about time to finally make all of my terrarium dreams come true. It was more annoying to make than I thought, even with the large opening in the vase I used. IMG_0539 IMG_0552

Whenever I photograph jewelry for the shop, I end up getting distracting and taking photos of the kitties instead. Warning: this post has a billion photos in it (that's probably more fun than words anyway). No photos of Stella though (the other kitty) :(

Oh, and the jewelry. I guess I should share that.

I also got a dresser from the Salvation Army for the living room last week. Oh, and that poodle. It was $1.99 at the Goodwill... how could I not?

I plan on painting the dresser. I like it as it is, but it just doesn't go right with the room. You can see the paint swatches that I have on it, I'm thinking about a dark, emerald-ish green or a light to medium blue shade. I won't paint it until I narrow it down. These decisions take time.

Taking more photos today to update the whole shop (whew!). The cats are always trying to get involved. Today, Ryan and Jan did a little impromptu photo shoot. What a couple of clowns! IMG_6403

And you know Gus had to make an appearance. Such a ham.

I did some thrifting yesterday. I had terrible luck until I decided to head to the last place (Goodwill), which is where I found these awesome brick tumblers! I'll try to post again on the other things I got sometime later this week.

Hi

Gus

I'm starting this blog for a few reasons. I'd like a place to put photos of images that really don't belong on my Facebook page, my Etsy shop, or Pinterest. During the day, I work from home and take a lot of photos of my kitties, our home renovations, decorating ideas, recipes, behind the scenes of my jewelry shop, etc. I also find so many great things from other artists and I'd like to share those too. I've never been good about keeping up with a blog but I'm hoping that now that I work full time making jewelry, that will change.
